How to Make French Toast Sausage Roll‐Ups
French toast sausage roll-ups make a sweet and savory breakfast, perfect to eat right in the morning if you're not one for big meals. Covered in a fluffy cinnamon-flavored roll, filled in the center with a hot, chewy sausage, and dunked in rich maple syrup, what's not to love?
- Makes:8-10 servings
8-10 slices soft (white or wheat) sandwich bread
½ cup milk
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon flour
Slice the crust off each slice of sandwich bread.
Flatten each slice of bread using a rolling pin.
Place a sausage link on each slice and roll it up like a tortilla.
Preheat the stovetop to medium heat.
Grease a medium-sized skillet with butter.
Whisk the milk, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, and flour in a bowl until well-combined.
Dip the rolls in the egg mixture and place them on the skillet.
Cook until the rolls are golden brown and crispy.
Serve.Place the roll-ups on a serving plate covered with a napkin. Dip with maple syrup if desired. Enjoy!
