Sheryl Sandberg: So we leaned in ... now what?
The Surprising Sex Tip From Sheryl Sandberg
Facebook's COO Sheryl Sandberg is a genius at helping women climb up the corporate ladder, and she's spearheaded a movement around her bookLean In. But her knack for doling out advice doesn't stop at careers. She recently told Stephen Colbert how husbands can have more sex with their wives onThe Colbert Report. When Colbert questioned Sandberg about a study that found men who do lots of chores have less sex, she was quick to note that the research came from an outdated 1996 report and doesn't apply to today's relationships.
"Here's what the data really shows," says Sandberg. "The data says that if you share chores more evenly—which doesn't really happen now but could—you're happier. And if you're happier you have more sex. So I tell men, if you want to have more sex with your wife, don't buy flowers—do laundry. And this works.”
Is anyone else hoping that "Do Laundry" becomes the next installment of "Lean In?" But in all seriousness, she may have a point. Sharing responsibilities—like household chores—is just one way to make sure you're in an equal relationship. And we're guessing that one benefit of that equal bond is some great sex. Hey, if anything, it's also a great way to convince your partner to do your laundry this week.
